Ms. Jackie Burditt

Administrator of State and Federal Grants

Ms. Jackie Burditt is the Grant Administrator for Calumet School District 132. She served as Assistant Principal for one year and Principal of Burr Oak Academy for three years. Ms. Burditt loves her job and says that she feels she has found her niche. The one thing she misses about her principal's position is being with the children.

Ms. Burditt's educational philosophy is that all children can learn if given equal opportunities and motivation/encouragement to succeed. “Sometimes school employees are the only ones that children can depend on which makes our jobs even more important. We must show we care about all children and give them the help they need, even if it is basic needs (breakfast, homework help, concern, empathy, safety, etc.)”.

In addition to the job of Grant Administrator, Ms. Burditt is responsible for District Staff Development planning and implementation, monitoring the 21st Century Community Learning Center program, directing the Bilingual program, assessment for the District, and Data Analysis for the District.

Ms. Burditt has 28 years experience in the field of education. She also has experience in the community mental health field and psychometrics. Ms. Burditt has been a resident of Illinois since 1999. She previously resided in Texas and Oklahoma.
