School Hours
Students should not arrive to school before 8:00am, as there is no supervision until then. School begins at 8:20am daily and dismisses at 2:30pm sharp. Students are expected to leave the building when school ends, unless they are scheduled to participate in an after school activity or program. If you need to pick up your child during the school day, you must sign him/her out in the main office.
School Attendance
Your child’s regular and prompt attendance at school is crucial to his/her success. I can’t emphasize this point enough! Please view school as a priority and see to it that your child attends every day, except in cases of illness or emergency. In the event of an emergency, please contact the school office to report your child’s absence. Please send a note with your child when they return to school. If your child is out of school for three days, they must return with a doctor’s release note.
Money
When sending money to school, always send it in a sealed envelope with the following information written on it:
- Your child’s first and last name
- The amount of money
- The purpose for the money (lunch money, field trip, etc).
- Your teacher’s name
Birthdays
Birthdays are special occasions for students. If your child wishes, he/she may bring a simple treat for the class (cupcakes are traditional) on the Friday nearest his/her birthday. Treats must be left in the main office. They will be passed out during lunch time so as not to interfere with the school day. Please do not send a cake, as we are unable to cut them!
